This is the second time I ran prompter for Mike Bush. I love running prompter for news anchors, as they are always near flawless and it makes my job so easy.

Another year of running teleprompter for Babylock.

I have no strings to hold me down.

This wireless setup works great if you are in a remote area that doesn’t have any power options. It’s also good if the shot is a long dolly move or jib set up.

My newest trapezoid system ready for action, perfect when the talent is off center of the glass.

Yesterday was the setup and today was the actual event. The show went great and everyone was happy with the work we did.

Secured myself a little nook behind stage to make into my work station. The audio guy provided me with a mixer so I could plug in my headphones to listen to the speaker. A speaker monitor wasn’t a good option since I was back in the kitchen and the noise would make it too difficult to hear.

I did a quick test of some new items I bought as you can see in the picture above. I now have a wireless receiver and transmitter as well as a battery pack for the monitor. This setup will allow the prompter to be mounted to a dolly without needing someone to wrangle all those pesky cables. I can’t wait to use this on a shoot!

I had the chance to run teleprompter for the Mayor of St. Louis, Tishaura Jones, on this one. She seems like a really nice person and easy to work for. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to use my teleprompter system for this job, as they rented from someone else. It was a pain to use as they used TVs for the monitors and they don’t flip internally. I used the remote prompter tool in TelescriptAV to flip it. Not ideal but it works.

I believe this is the 3rd year of me doing teleprompter for the Washington University graduation. I was running my two laptop setup, with two versions of TelescriptAV, and my scroll controller with two USB inputs. I use a mini ATEM Blackmagic switcher so if one laptop goes down in the middle of the speech, I can quickly switch to my back up. I am located pretty far away from the lectern but luckily I have all the cabling needed to make the run.

I was finally able to figure out the best cart load. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

We had a three person panel for this group, which created a bit of viewing problem with talent being off the center axis of the camera. I am in the process of adding a teleprompter system with a trapezoid glass for extended viewing angles. I also provided a couple of separate monitors to display slides and script on. I did the job of two people on this one; running slides and script. It was an awesome shoot!

This is the second year that I have operated the teleprompter for the Planned Parenthood Luncheon. The difference in height of all the speakers always pose a problem and has me considering getting an auto-rise system.

I recently renewed my drone license and plan on adding drone work to my services offered.

This quarterly shoot was done at the Emerson Electric HQ with the CEO reading from the teleprompter.

This was the same office as the previous day, but with the room flipped and shooting into a green screen.

This was a small simple shoot done in a local office for TKC Holdings. The CEO recorded the part as an introduction to new employees.

I worked with a company from Montreal for this shoot. They contacted me through my website, which is always encouraging to know that people are seeing it. They were a nice group of people to work with, and I hope they come back to St. Louis again soon. We shot at Barnes Jewish Hospital but didn’t use any of the typical hospital locations. Instead, we filmed in the walkway between the two buildings.

We had an all-day shoot at The Chase Park Plaza for Copeland. Copeland had a convention in the general session on that day, so throughout the day, their employees came to the room we had set up to read some lines from the teleprompter

The Vice President came to the Democratic event during the weekend, and saying the security was tight is an understatement. They kept hinting at using a teleprompter, which I was there at the ready in case they did. The prompter never happened, and I ended up working the show as a playback operator. It was still a good time. I’m on the right with the headset.
